Draft for legal review
This privacy policy is a working draft so a lawyer can review and replace it. It is not final legal advice, and it is not a statement that every sentence has been confirmed. Highlighted placeholders still need a business or legal answer.

1. Introduction and policy scope
This policy explains how Maitri may handle personal information when you use the Maitri app or the website at https://maitriapp.com. It also covers messages you send to support.
This is a working draft. It is not legal advice, and a lawyer has not approved it. Do not treat it as final while the effective date on this page says it is not confirmed. Read it with the terms at https://maitriapp.com/terms-and-conditions and the account deletion page at https://maitriapp.com/delete-account.
Maitri is a way to discover people, including creators who have joined Maitri, and to talk with one other person on a private audio or video call. The app also includes a profile, call history, favourites, a balance you can recharge, referrals, blocking, reporting, and a way to ask for account deletion. This policy describes those features as they are presented on this website. It does not add practices that have not been confirmed.
2. Who operates Maitri
The service is offered under the name Maitri. The legal name of the organisation responsible for personal information has not been published. The website is https://maitriapp.com.
The contact location provided is Delhi, Delhi – 110081, India. Use it for correspondence. It is not stated here as a registered office or a verified business premises.
For a privacy question, email support@maitriapp.com. You can also use the contact page at https://maitriapp.com/contact.
3. Information collected or processed
The lists below follow the product as it is described today. They are categories, not a complete database schema. Exact fields still have to be confirmed before this page is treated as final.
Account and profile
- Sign-in details the app asks for, which may include a one-time code. Do not send that code to anyone else.
- A username, profile name, or other profile details you add in the app.
- The phone number or username you give support so an account can be found, if you include it in a request.
Calls and connections
- Call details such as that a 1-to-1 audio or video call took place, who took part, when it happened, how long it lasted, and whether it was audio or video. These are details about the call, not the sound or picture itself.
- Favourites you save from Recent, and the blocks you set.
- People or creators shown as available to talk on Maitri.
Money, referrals, safety, and support
- Balance, recharge, and the fact that balance was used for a call at the rate shown in the app.
- Referral information, such as the code in your Profile and whether an account used a code.
- A report, including the description you write, and any follow-up you send to support.
- Messages you send by email or through the contact form: your name, email address, topic, and message.
The app may also need some device or connection information to keep you signed in and to place a call. The exact device fields have not been published.
Unless a support endpoint is configured, the contact form on this website does not save your message on the site. It prepares an email to support. This website does not include a published analytics or advertising tool. A full list of cookies has not been published.
4. How information is used
Information described above may be used for these purposes:
- To create your account, let you sign in, and keep that sign-in to you.
- To show people and creators who are available on Maitri, and to place a private 1-to-1 audio or video call.
- To keep call history, favourites, blocks, and reports.
- To show your balance, add a recharge, and apply balance to a call at the rate shown in the app.
- To operate the referral information shown in Profile.
- To review a safety report and to limit accounts that break the rules.
- To answer a support message or an account-deletion request.
- To meet a legal duty, once the duty and the records it requires are confirmed.
The legal grounds for each use have not been published. This page does not say that information is used only for essential purposes.
5. Profiles, discovery, and calling
Home is where you can see people who are available to talk, including creators who have joined Maitri. You choose someone and start a private call with that one person. You choose audio or video before the call begins. A creator appears only if they are part of Maitri. Not every creator is on Maitri.
Maitri does not import Instagram profiles, does not access private Instagram information, and does not place calls through Instagram. It is not an Instagram or Meta product, partner, or integration.
During a call you can use the controls the app shows, including mute, speaker, camera, and end. A timer and a balance check can be shown while you talk. Completed calls can appear in Recent.
Call details, such as participants, time, duration, and call type, are not the same thing as the sound or picture of the call. This policy does not say that call audio or video is recorded, is not recorded, is stored, is deleted, or is end-to-end encrypted. Those technical facts have not been published. They have to be confirmed before this policy is treated as final.
What another person can see on your profile is what the app shows them at the time. This page does not list every profile field.
6. Wallet, recharge, and payments
Maitri uses a recharge balance for calling. You can view balance and recharge from Profile. You choose someone, start an audio or video call, and balance is used at the rate shown in the app for that call. If this website also shows a rate, it comes from website configuration. The rate in the app at the time of the call is the one that applies.
A recharge or a call can create a record of the account, the amount or balance used, and the time. Payment methods and amounts are shown in the app. This policy does not publish prices, package names, or a refund period, because those have not been confirmed for this page.
If a payment provider completes a recharge, that provider may process the information it needs for the transaction. The provider's name has not been published here. This page does not say that Maitri stores full payment-card numbers, and it does not say that card numbers are never stored. That has not been verified for publication.
7. Referrals
Profile can show a referral code. You may share that code. Maitri may record the code and whether an account was referred, so the referral information in the app can work.
Any benefit follows the current program shown in the app. This page does not state a reward amount. A reward amount is published here only after it is added in website configuration.
8. Blocking, reporting, and safety
From Recent you can mark someone as a Favourite, block them, or report them. Blocking is there so you can stop an unwanted connection. The confirmation steps and the exact effect are shown in the app when you use the control. This page does not describe a block as hiding you from that person in every part of the service, because that effect has not been published in full.
A report can include what happened. You can also email support@maitriapp.com or use https://maitriapp.com/contact. Reports are designed to be reviewed. Maitri does not promise how quickly a report is reviewed, and it does not promise that every interaction is safe.
Harassment and other abusive conduct are not allowed. An account involved in that conduct can be restricted or removed. A safety review may use the report, related call details, and the accounts involved. This page does not describe a separate moderation vendor, because none has been named.
10. Retention and account deletion
Information may be kept for as long as it is needed to run the service, handle a safety issue, or meet a legal duty. Exact retention periods for accounts, call details, call content, payment records, reports, and backups have not been published.
You can ask for account deletion at https://maitriapp.com/delete-account, by email to support@maitriapp.com, or through the contact form with the topic for account or data deletion. Do not send a password or a one-time code. If an in-app deletion path is published, the deletion page will show it. This website does not promise how quickly a request is completed.
Deletion is meant to stop that account from being used and to stop the profile from being discovered. Whether call history is deleted, kept, or separated from your name has not been confirmed. Some records may still be kept where the law requires it, or where they are needed for an unresolved safety, fraud, or payment matter. Examples can include a recharge record and a report that is still open.
11. Security
Maitri is intended to keep account actions with the person who signs in. Support asks you not to share one-time codes or passwords. The specific security measures used in the app and on the servers have not been published.
No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. This website does not claim a security certification, a seal, or that information cannot be accessed without authorisation.
12. Storage and international transfers
The contact location is in India. That does not by itself say where account, call, or payment information is stored.
Where information is stored, and whether it is transferred outside India, has not been published. This page does not describe a transfer safeguard, because none has been confirmed. Those facts have to be added before this policy is treated as final.
13. Privacy requests and legal rights
You can email support@maitriapp.com to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of account information. You can also use https://maitriapp.com/contact. A request may be refused or limited where the law requires a record to be kept, or where support cannot confirm that the request comes from the account holder. The confirmation method has not been published.
A jurisdiction for privacy questions has not been published. The rights available to you depend on the law that applies to you. This page does not list those rights as if they had already been confirmed by counsel.
India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 is being brought into force in phases. As of October 2026, definitions and the provisions that establish the Data Protection Board have commenced. The main duties for organisations, and the statutory rights to access, correct, and erase personal data, have not. Later dates apply to the remaining provisions. This page does not say that Maitri complies with that Act, and it does not treat those statutory rights as already available here. A message to support is a support request.
14. Children, changes, and contact
A minimum age has not been published. Maitri is not described as a service for children. If you believe a child is using Maitri, email support@maitriapp.com. The children's-data rules in the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 are part of the later commencement of that Act. This page does not say that a parental-consent flow is already in the app.
When this policy is updated, the effective date and the last-updated date on this page should change. Until those dates are filled in, this page remains a working draft. A change on this website does not by itself mean a lawyer has approved the text.
