Safety on Maitri
Maitri is designed with safety features and responsible-use mechanisms. That is a design choice, not a claim that the service is risk-free.
What you can do
From Recent you can favourite someone, block them, or report them. Blocking is for stopping an unwanted connection. Reporting is for telling Maitri what happened so it can be reviewed.
User reporting
You can report a person from Recent and describe what happened. Reports are designed to be reviewed.
User blocking
You can block someone from Recent when you do not want that connection to continue. The app shows the effect when you confirm.
Privacy
Account information and call-related information are part of your account experience, not a public feed.
Responsible communication
Maitri is for respectful conversations. You are responsible for how you speak with the other person.
Moderation
Reports can be reviewed, and action can be taken on accounts that break the rules. A response time is not promised on this website.
Abuse prevention
Blocking, reporting, and account restrictions are built in so harmful behaviour can be limited. They do not make every call risk-free.
Secure account handling
Sign-in and account actions are designed to be protected. Do not share one-time codes. This site does not claim a security certification.
No tolerance for harassment
Harassment is not allowed. Accounts involved in it can be restricted or removed.
Inappropriate behaviour
Threats, sexual exploitation, and other abusive conduct are not allowed. The terms draft lists the rules counsel will confirm.
What we ask of people
- Speak to the other person the way you would want to be spoken to.
- End a call that does not feel right. You do not have to explain yourself first.
- Do not ask for money, private photos, or one-time codes.
- Do not record or share a call unless you have a right to.
- Use Block and Report when someone crosses a line. Do not use them to harass someone back.
What this page does not claim
- Maitri is not “100% safe”, and this website does not say that it is.
- There is no published promise that every report is reviewed within a set time.
- There is no security certification, award, or partnership claimed here.
- Calls are private and 1-to-1. This page does not claim they are impossible to intercept.
