Maitri

Legal

Terms & Conditions

A structured draft covering eligibility, accounts, calling, recharges, safety rules, and liability. It is organised so a lawyer can review and replace each section.

Draft for legal review

This terms & conditions is a working draft so a lawyer can review and replace it. It is not final legal advice, and it is not a statement that every sentence has been confirmed. Highlighted placeholders still need a business or legal answer.

1. Status of these terms

These terms are a structured draft for Maitri. They are not final legal advice. A lawyer should review and replace this text before it is published as a binding agreement. Bracketed text is a placeholder, not a completed clause.

2. Agreement

If you create an account or use Maitri, you are expected to follow the published rules. The binding version is the one counsel approves, with an effective date of [EFFECTIVE_DATE].

3. Who we are

The service is named Maitri. The legal entity is [LEGAL_ENTITY_NAME]. Contact location: Delhi, Delhi – 110081, India. This is the location provided, not a statement that it is a registered office. Website: https://maitriapp.com. Support: support@maitriapp.com.

4. Eligibility

You may use Maitri only if you meet the minimum age of [MINIMUM_AGE] and you are allowed to enter this kind of agreement where you live. You must provide information that is accurate enough to operate your account.

[CONFIRM MINIMUM AGE, ANY IDENTITY CHECK, AND WHETHER THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO A COUNTRY]

5. Account creation

  • Create an account through the sign-in steps shown in the app.
  • Keep your account to yourself. Do not share one-time codes, and do not let someone else use your account as if it were theirs.
  • You are responsible for activity on your account unless you have reported that it is no longer in your control.
  • One person should not create accounts to avoid a block, a suspension, or a safety review. [CONFIRM THE ACCOUNT RULES]

6. The service

Maitri lets people discover others, start private 1-to-1 audio and video calls, review recent calls, favourite someone, block or report a user, recharge a balance, and use the referral information in Profile. Features can change. This website describes the product; the app is where a call actually happens.

7. User responsibilities

  • Use Maitri for respectful, lawful conversation.
  • Do not pretend to be someone else.
  • Do not pressure another person to stay on a call, to share personal information, or to move the conversation somewhere unsafe.
  • Follow the rate and balance rules shown in the app.
  • Use safety tools honestly. Do not file reports you know are false.

8. Prohibited behaviour

The following are not allowed. Counsel should confirm this list and the consequences before publication.

  • Harassment, hate, threats, or intimidation.
  • Sexual content or sexual requests involving anyone under the age confirmed in [MINIMUM_AGE], and any sexual exploitation.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery, or recording a call without a right to do so.
  • Scams, fraud, or asking someone to pay you outside the app.
  • Sharing another person’s private information without a right to do so.
  • Spam, automated misuse, or attempts to disrupt calls or accounts.
  • Anything illegal where you are, or where the service is operated.

9. Calling services

Audio and video calls are 1-to-1. You can use the call controls, see a timer, and check your balance. A call may end if the balance is not enough to continue, if either person ends it, or if a safety or technical reason stops it. Call quality depends on the network and the device. Maitri does not promise an uninterrupted call.

The calling rate is the rate shown in the app for that call. A rate published on this website is only shown after it is confirmed in configuration, and it does not override the rate shown in the app at the time of the call.

10. Payments and recharges

Calling uses a recharge balance. You add balance in the app and it is used according to the applicable rate. Payment methods, taxes, and receipts are [TO BE CONFIRMED]. Recharge amounts are shown in the app and are not invented on this website.

11. Refunds

[CONFIRM THE REFUND POLICY]. This draft does not promise a refund. Do not assume a recharge can be reversed unless the published policy says so.

12. Referrals

You may invite friends through the referral information in Profile. Any benefit is the benefit described in the current program inside the app. The program can change or end. This website does not publish a reward amount unless that amount has been confirmed in configuration.

[CONFIRM ELIGIBILITY, LIMITS, AND WHETHER A BENEFIT CAN BE REVERSED]

13. Account suspension

Maitri may restrict, suspend, or close an account that breaks these rules, creates a safety risk, or has to be limited for a legal reason. A suspension may include loss of access to balance. [CONFIRM WHETHER UNUSED BALANCE IS RETURNED, FORFEITED, OR HELD]

14. User-generated content

You are responsible for the profile information you add and for what you submit in a report or a support request. You give Maitri permission to use that information to operate the service, including to review a safety report. This draft does not claim ownership of your personal information.

[CONFIRM THE LICENCE LANGUAGE COUNSEL WANTS FOR PROFILE TEXT AND ANY OTHER CONTENT USERS SUBMIT]

15. Privacy

The privacy policy draft explains how account, call-related, and support information may be handled. If these terms and the privacy policy disagree after both are final, counsel should state which one wins. Until then, neither draft overrides a confirmed legal requirement.

16. Intellectual property

The Maitri name, this website, the app, and the original text and design of this site belong to their owner. You may not copy the brand or the site and present it as your own. [CONFIRM THE TRADEMARK OWNER: [LEGAL_ENTITY_NAME]]

17. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Maitri is not liable for conversations between users, for what another person says or does on a call, or for a network failure. Safety tools reduce risk. They are not a guarantee that a call will be comfortable or safe.

[CONFIRM ANY LIABILITY CAP, EXCLUDED DAMAGES, AND MANDATORY CONSUMER RIGHTS THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER [GOVERNING_LAW]]. Do not publish a cap that counsel has not set.

18. Disclaimer

The service is provided as available. Maitri does not promise error-free calls, a particular number of people to talk with, or that every report will lead to a particular outcome.

19. Changes to these terms

These terms can be updated. A published update should change the last-updated date. [CONFIRM HOW USERS ARE NOTIFIED, AND WHETHER CONTINUED USE COUNTS AS ACCEPTANCE]

20. Governing law and disputes

[CONFIRM GOVERNING LAW: [GOVERNING_LAW]. CONFIRM COURTS OR ANOTHER DISPUTE PROCESS IN [JURISDICTION]. DO NOT INVENT A VENUE.]
